Kitesurfing

The water sport everyone seems to have been waiting for, but didn't know it. The idea of being dragged behind a kite on a surfboard may seem ridiculous but in reality it has to be one of the most exhilarating sports to come along for a long time. Windsurfing, Wakeboarding, Surfing, Snowboarding, Paragliding and Skateboarding all rolled into one amazing sport. Big waves, flat water, strong wind, light wind, it makes no difference kitesurfing rips in all conditions.

Imagine the sun is shining the wind is blowing 10-12 knots. You are blasting across the water barely able to control the board under your feet, the speed is incredible. Heading for the beach, about 200 yards off you pull on the control bar sending the kite back in the opposite direction to you, the lines go tight and you are plucked of the water 20-30 feet. You grab the rail of the board with one hand and pull a 520 spin then land softly back on the water to head out to sea again. Everyone on the beach looks round in amazement at the spectacle.

That's what Kite Surfing is all about, and it's coming to Hayling. Sheltered waters and sea breezes make Hayling a great spot for this spectacular sport.
