“Call to arms” over possible tip closure

Concern is growing amongst Hayling Island residents that “the tip” (Hayling’s Household Waste Recycling Centre) could be heading for closure.   The possibility has been raised from within our Councils and a new review seems to suggest that closures across the county are inevitable.

Residents are being urged to have their views heard in the official consultation, which can be completed online.  Click here to complete the questionnaire now.  If you have views on the issue please complete the consultation questionnaire and add your comments to highlight any concerns not covered by the questions.

A change.org petition has also been started, and those opposed to the possible closure of the site (meaning Havant would be the closest facility) are also being urged to add their names to the objections. Click here to sign the petition
