Ale-ing Fest : Hayling's very own beer festival
The Ale-ing Fest is a beer festival on Hayling Island that celebrates ales and ciders made in the U.K. The festival began life on a cold February night in 1995 when two local beer enthusiasts berated the distance they had to travel to drink a fine pint, by the end of their evening they had set in place the plans to create an annual haven for ale drinkers the Ale-ing Fest. In the August of that year the first Ale-ing Fest took place. It brings together lots of like minded individuals who want to taste the wealth of ales and ciders brewed in the British Isles.
The first two day event was a great success. The Ale-ing fest has since moved venues a number of times and has changed format slightly but its essence remains the same; joyful appreciation of local, high quality beers and ciders.
This year the Ale-ing Fest is taking place at the Hayling Island Community Centre over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of October 2010. You can be sure that there will be a vast array of excellent tipples for you to sample and enjoy, a great atmosphere and lots of fantastic live music.
You can buy tickets for afternoon or evening sessions and tickets are available in advance at a reduced rate from a number of outlets in addition to the tickets available on the door. Ticket price includes entry to the Ale-ing Fest, a commemorative glass, a programme, your first glass of beer or cider free and live music where advertised.
