Frequent service of diesel and steam narrow gauge trains between Eastoke Corner and Mengham Road stations, direct to Beachlands (Funland), a short walk from Carnival Field.
All available locomotives will be in regular passenger service, including diesels 'Jack', 'Alistair' and 'Edwin' plus visiting live steam loco 'Emmet'. First round trip 11am last train 8pm. |

| "Blood Brothers" |
A Play by Willy Russell
The play Blood Brothers is seldom performed after it was turned into a successful musical. The story concerns twin brothers who were separated at birth and brought up by natural and adoptive mothers, one in working class conditions and the other as middle class. Set originally in Liverpool, the brothers reunite and the more affluent tries to help the less fortunate with a job and housing, but they both ‘share’ their love for the discontented Linda resulting in jealousy and hate. A hard hitting, but often funny play with a melodramatic ending.

| Blue Flag Celebration |
Hayling Island has once again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag for 2010, making this the 10th year running!
To celebrate this achievement Havant Borough Council is hosting a community celebration event on Saturday 14th August from 10am to 2pm. This is a free event with a variety of attractions and information stands focusing on health and physical activity and a themed family fun walk along the sea front.
Councillor Lenaghan, portfolio holder for culture and community said:” We are very proud of our beach at Hayling Island and want to share this celebration of holding the Blue Flag for another year with residents and visitors.
“It’s a free family event with lots of activities; Samba Band, Bouncy Castle, Surf Simulator and lots more. Come along and join in the fun.”

Be inspired by Chichester Harbour and the guidance of professional sculptors Ganesh and Elaine Kings to create a work of art with driftwood. Start collecting driftwood now (store it in a dry place). Tools and natural dowling will be available along with extra driftwood and completed sculptures for inspiration. You may like to bring a board upon which to take your sculptures home. Bring a packed lunch.

| HAYLING FIRE STATION OPEN DAY |
Hayling Island Fire Station will be opening its doors this summer for a jam-packed day of fun and fire safety.
The station's annual open day will take place on Saturday, 21 August and provides local residents with the chance to visit their fire station to gain an insight into the various activities firefighters undertake.
The festivities, taking place between 10 am and 4 pm, will include entertainment for children as well as fire and rescue demonstrations. Refreshments and snacks will be on sale for hungry visitors and also merchandise, with all monies raised going to charities.
There will be short displays throughout the day by the station crews and a variety of stalls at the open day together with plenty of activities on site to keep younger visitors entertained. Firefighters will also be showcasing the equipment that they use to help keep Hayling Island and the surrounding area safe on a daily basis.
Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service's open days are fun for all the family but also provide an opportunity to learn more about a host of safety matters from home to road safety. Your local crew looks forward to seeing you there!
