| BTCV Hayling Island Beach Wardens: Practical Task |
Large areas of Sinah common are covered in gorse, which provides an excellent habitat for wildlife. Earlier in the year a strip was cleared by machine to create a public path, which doubles as fire break to protect the habitats and properties in the area.
We will be working to complete the creation of the pathway by cutting back and removing vegetation and trip hazards. This will make the way safer and more inviting for pedestrians, who will in turn help keep the fire break open.
The task will run from 10:30 - 15:00 and is free to attend but please contact us to book a place.
We will meet at the pay and display car park, next to Inn on the Beach along the seafront at Hayling Island
Please bring a packed lunch and suitable outdoor footwear and clothing.
This project may be suitable for anyone over the age of 16 to attend.
This project is being delivered in partnership with Havant Borough Council, with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
