On 4th Feb there will be a Contenders 2 Boxing Event at the leisure center in Havant. The event will feature 6 boxers from Hayling and will raise funds for the Hayling Lifeboat Station.

Next task: Past and new volunteers all welcome
Saturday 18th February - Beach Clean.
We shall have the means to make some tea and coffee but please bring some lunch if you plan to stay with us for the whole day. The task will end by 15:00 but stay for as long or short a time as you wish.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
It can be a bit breezy so dress for inclement weather and wear sturdy footwear - we do have work gloves and litter pickers for your use. Please sign in when you arrive.
We are meeting at 10:15 for a 10:30 start. The meeting place is the most westerly part of the seafront car park which is in front of the pitch and putt (this is west of the Inn on the Beach and the Eco cafe. |

| "Locals Only" Open Evening - Art Display |
Piranha Bar & Restaurant are excited to announce that they will be getting a bit of a makeover with the introduction of a series of framed images of Hayling Island taken by local professional photographer Harvey Mills. The photos will be displayed around the restaurant and bar area and will be available to purchase.
We will be holding an Open Evening on the 24th February where you can view the artwork and talk with Harvey about his inspiration. Many of the images are also part of Harvey's new book, Motherland | Locals Only, which will also be available to purchase.
Anyone with a Piranha Club Card will be entitled to a 10% discount on the book and the images on the night too.
There will also be a few complimentary nibbles while you browse, so come along and see a new side to Hayling!

| Beach Wardens Training Introduction Evening |
The evening is designed to give you information about the course, and the chance to ask any questions you may have, before signing up if you wish. It will also feature a talk on the wildlife of Hayling's coast from local expert John Goodspeed.
The Beach Wardens Training Course will consist of a series of 5 one-day sessions, to include topics such as Marine Birds, Shoreline wildlife, Seashore plants, Organising Projects and Working with the wider community. No previous knowledge is required for the training course, which is aimed at beginners, but those with prior knowledge are equally welcome! The sessions are all free and will take place on Hayling Island at weekends between March and July 2012. Each session will involve a mixture of indoor and outdoor activities, and will be taught by experienced BTCV project officers and local wildlife experts.
This course aims to help participants appreciate and enjoy the range of coastal habitats and wildlife of Hayling Island. It will help you develop skills in identification, and learn how to organise coastal events and activities for the local community.
