Meridian Judo Club
The club provides opportunities for children and adults of all ages and abilities to receive coaching in Judo. All training is by qualified British Judo Association (BJA) coaches who have been screened for the suitability for working with young people.

The Mangled Wurzels At Scarecrow Awards
Scrumpy and western tribute band The Mangled Wurzels will giving a free concert at Eastoke Corner during the Scarecrow Festival Awards. They will be playing between 2pm and 5pm with the Scarecrow Awards at around 3pm.

Come along and join in to old favourites such as (I’ve Got a Brand New) Combine Harvester, I’m a Cider Drinker, I Can Drive A Tractor and many more and you will also find out who has won the 2012 Scarecrow Awards!

Cuddly Toy Picnic and Treasure Hunt
11am / 1.5 hours
A fun session for families with children up to about 5 years old. Today we will be taking the harbour cuddly toys on a short beach walk and looking for strandline treasures. We will then have a quick look at the lifeboats before finishing with a picnic on the beach (or indoors if it is raining). Bring a picnic and a small bucket.
Fee: £2 (age 2 and over).
Meet: Hayling Island Lifeboat Station, PO11 9SJ. Parking next to the Station by kind permission of the RNLI.

All welcome but under 18s should be accompanied by a responsible adult. If you have a wild plant guide please bring it along otherwise we have some that we can lend out. Also a good idea to bring binoculars - there are some interesting birds to be seen.

Open Day: The Day the Monkeys Left Hayling Island
Community organisation Dot to Dot Arts has received Heritage Lottery Funding for a project that will trace the history of Hayling Island from the 1930s. It takes as its starting point the period when a local boating lake featured a colony of monkeys living on its central island.

We hope Islanders and holidaymakers will come and share their memorabilia and memories with us. Full details are available on 023 92200317, or on our website www.dottodot.org.uk and at https://www.facebook.com/D2DArts, where we will also be posting regular updates as the project progresses.

At Lower Tye Campsite, Copse Lane, Hayling Island. Setting up from 8am, open to buyers from 9-1. Pitch fees £8 for cars, £12 for cars and trailers or small vans (nothing larger than a transit)

Hot food available. Donations to St Peter's Church at the entrance. Free parking, toilets, well behaved dogs welcome. We have held these sales for some years now and we are very well supported by sellers and buyers.

Driftwood Sculpture
Be inspired by Chichester Harbour and the guidance of professional sculptors Ganesh and Elaine Kings to create a work of art with driftwood. Start collecting driftwood now (store it in a dry place). Tools and natural dowling will be available along with extra driftwood and completed sculptures for inspiration. You may like to bring a board upon which to take your sculptures home. Bring a packed lunch.

Jack Cottle grew up with the piano and started by being classically trained. He didn't start singing/songwriting until only a few years ago. He tries to be as original as possible, whilst also using as many styles of music in the songs.
