New Gig Club starts.This newly formed club is currently recruiting members and going through the affiliation process for Cornish Pilot Gig Association (CPGA) and British Rowing. It is in ‘start-up’ mode with a new Prospectus and Membership Pack now available for anyone who wants to row and race these beautiful, fast and stable boats. Exciting news for sportsmen, women and juniors across the County is the development of the first rowing club in Hampshire and the IoW with 2 Cornish Pilot Gigs now available on Hayling for members to row and race; with a view to competing in the National and World Championships in the Scillies in May 2013.

| Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing |
The Langstone Cutters Rowing Club's regular Sunday rowing (open to all newcomers) happens from 10.45 on Sunday 13 January.
This week the new Langstone Cutters Gig Club will have one of their Cornish Pilot Gigs out for anyone who wishes to have a go.
This offshoot of the Rowing Club has been formed to facilitate rowing and racing these beautiful boats on the flourishing Gig racing circuit (prevalent in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset) and at the World Championships in the Scilly Isles in May.
We are currently recruiting rowers for teams including mens, womens, mixed, vets (over 40) and supervets (over 50).
Rowing is a fun way of getting, and staying, fit and meeting people.
Have a go! Ask for Brian, Chris or Shelley out the front of the mill. You'll get a safety briefing and instruction on how to row and then get to have a go around the Saltings (+- 20 minutes). If you like it, you can have another go and we'll happily hand you a membership application form!!

Dot to Dot Arts will be holding another open day for residents or visitors to share their photos/memories of the Island over the years. These will be contribute to an exhibition which will be held in May as part of the Heritage Lottery Project. Afterwards these memories will be held at Hampshire Archives for future generations to enjoy!
