| Northney Explorer Walk |
A 4½ mile (7.5 km) walk from Langstone over the Hayling Island bridge to explore the Northney countryside and shoreline, stopping at the new Northney Farm cafe for refreshments and to hear about farming in an AONB with the farmers Mary and Stan Pike. Bring some money for the cafe. Some paths may be muddy. Organised by Chichester Harbour Conservancy.
Fee: £3 on the day.
Meet: The Ship Inn, Langstone PO9 1RD. Free public car park next to the pub just north of the bridge onto Hayling Island.

| Author To Talk about New Book on Old Hayling |
In a new book, the author John Rowlands who was a keen amateur photographer and formerly a secretary of Hayling Island Camera Club takes you back to the Hayling Island of yesteryear, showcasing nearly 200 photographs of how island life used to be.
Author John Rowlands will be giving an illustrated talk about the new book including some archive film clips dating back to the 1960’s. Tickets for his talk are £2 which is fully redeemable off a copy of the new book purchased on the night for signing by John.
A glass of wine/juice is included in the ticket price. The Talk starts at 7pm on Thursday April 11th, Small Hall URC Church, Hollow Lane PO11 9EY.

Steve Trewella is a diver and photographer, specialising in the photography of British marine life above and below the waves. His photographs have been used by clients all over the world, in newspapers, magazines and books. He has also worked as a contributor and expert on numerous television projects. See a selection of his photographs and hear the stories that go with them. Doors open from 6:30pm. Talk starts at 7pm for approx 1 hour. Organised by Chichester Harbour Conservancy.

Trains between Beachlands and Eastoke Corner via Mengham Road Halt, will be hauled by steam locomotive "Wendy", built by Bagnall of Stafford in 1919.

| Volunteer Open Day - Starfish Childrens Centre |
Volunteer Open Day on 26th April from 10am to 2pm at Starfish Children's Centre in Palmerston Road, Hayling.
We are now actively seeking volunteers in the following areas:
- Outreach Assistants - Helping to set up play and activity equipment, transporting equipment from our Children’s Centre to local community venues within a 2 mile radius. Welcoming children and families to the sessions.
Helping to clear away the equipment and transport it back to the Children’s
Centre.
- Reception Helpers – Welcoming children and families to the centre, answering the telephone and directing calls. Helping Families to find the group or session they are looking for.
- Play Group Assistants - Helping to set up play and activity equipment, welcoming children and families to the sessions.
Help to clear away the equipment and transport it back to the Children’s Centre.
- Helper to maintain our Toy Library - Helping to maintain our Toy Library and reading and sharing stories with children and families in the sessions.
Come and find out more over a cup of tea and cake!
