Default Theatre - Local & National...

Hi all,

I know there are a few fellow thespians on here... wondered if anyone fancied shring info about local theatre, whats on, auditions, what anyone saw in London recently etc....

I was going to ask what people had recently been up to London to see...

How many people travel to Portsmouth (Kings? Or Theatre Royal)?

Or Mayflower?

And of course the local groups....

Went to Mayflower, Southampton, for my 1st time ever last month.

Saw the show "Thriller". It was great. Fab singing & dancing. Lively show with all Michael Jackson hits. Would recommend. We were lucky as sis-in-law spotted the ads so we booked very early & were in 4th row.

Also, 100% going to book tickets for Oliver performed by Hayling Musical Society in October. Not been to HMS show yet. Love Oliver!

(Hayley did start a thread on theatre info a few months back so there may be further info there)

Ah maybe we can move it over to hobbies thread - sorry - didn't want to double up.....Bit new to the forum and struggle to keep up.

The Mayflower has some excellent shows. Never heard of Thriller though thats sounds interesting.

I would very much like to watch the Oliver production. I am keen on local theatre and do try to support as many groups as possible.
Especially as a member of one in Portsmouth for the past 16 years and very much part of fund raising to save the Kings Theatre.

Oh Mrs W.... please don't apologise! Yes... that could be a great idea for the new hobbies thread.

I've been on Hayling for almost 3 years and still not been to Kings! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed a show there though (could of been Grease... it was the Arron Steadman production.... he is a young Hayling Islander (18? now maybe?).

Thriller was great. I'm looking forward to Oliver too.

I am quite passionate about the Kings but then I have been dancing there since I was small!!! I think if you choose the right production anyone would enjoy it. The theatre itself is gorgeous, although needs a little updating in parts...

I think I remember a Grease production...not sure though...?
