Cloud computing is the way forward IMPO. Forget needing an expensive o/s with all the bells n whistles & on-premise computing....

Bought a laptop designed and built to run Windows XP, still runs fine.

Why chase the latest O/S?

A bit like being a sheep and buying iBrick:

Then worrying when you can throw more money away buying iSlate:

Yes Apple registered the domain name in 2006

I'm not so sure, it has its place and is handy at times but when stuff goes bold up your stuffed, you can do naff all until its back, had it at work the other day, we lost the link to a server which ran some modeling software on local machines, we were blodded luckly someone had a local copy so a couple of us were able to do somestuff but the rest of us where stuffed until the "cloud" floated past again

Its a bit like webmail, fine while its working but if it goes then your stuffed, you cant even look at your old mail, compose a few messages or just look stuff up, where as if you use a client and all your mail resides locally so if you wake up one day and you find your "cloud" has blodded off for the day you can at the very least do some house keeping, compose stuff etc etc

So for me personally the cloud has its place but no way would I want it for everything
