The population of Southampton is massive, so little Hayling did really well.

Southampton could have afforded to do Daisy Dip anyway as the council has pledged to match the £50,000 and improve the area the other side of the road.

We are begining to see big improvements in facilities on the Island. How much of our money to be spent on Eastoke Corner still resides in HBC coffers, I'd like to know? The plan was to narrow the too-wide corner to provide a wider pedestrian corner for outdoor seating and in doing so, cut down the speeding there.

I have pasted my previous response below to the Liveability funding. as to Mayoral banquets there are none which are paid for by the tax payer. All events are by ticket which are purchased by those that attend. The Mayor also raises each year 15-20K for local charities.

There was never enough money in the POT for all that as that was the master plan, if you like the designers dream. When the estimates started landing on the floor it was obvious it was going to be a staged process, which was publicised with more bids being applied for. Unfortunately HBC have not had much luck with lottery bids etc as the Seachange one was also unsuccessful.

Let us just be grateful that the kids have something that they wanted and it didn't come out of HBC depleted budget.
As proven by the stoke field project and the response to this project when islanders pull together they can make an impact.
If every resident put £1 a month into a fund think how much money we would have in 5 years Then we might stand a better chance of getting extra funding for better facilities for all residents who live here.

Well done for trying Andy, sadly it doesnt matter HOW many times you tell some folk they never take it in, just like the the many many many times people say the beach replemishment is just a waste of money, they dont seem to understand that its all that can be affored.

Expect to repeat yourself many more times over the Eastoke plan and the Master plan
