Default Clothing Collection Scam?

I've had a blue leaflet from Clothing Collection - W&W HELP LIMITED - comapny Reg 6296698 for the usual.
There's not much info that I can find on line about them apart from the fact that they are registered and haven't returned accounts.
Can anybody else find anything about them?

They are NOt a charity!

Correct, they are a limited company that was formed on 28 June 2007.

They have an accounting reference date of 30 June, and this means that their accounts (1st year) to 30 June 2008 are not due to be filed until 30 April 2009. They are late with their annual return, but there is no fine that and that is quite usual.

I'll dig out the details of the directors later. They are based in Woolwich, in the east end of London, so it looks like not a local concern.

I thought that when a leaflet popped through the door, think you and I are in the same area Merlot.

It did make me wonder, how many people offer clothes to these collection agencies, thinking that they're going to a worthy cause, when in fact the items are sold off for profit by the scammers? Bang out of order if this is what will happen.

They turn up on a regalar basis. Write BLOD OFF on the leaflet and leave it outside.

Or set the dogs on 'em

I'd put something other than clothes in the bags! No sympathy for their employees either; very unethical company.

Also received a leaflet or bag whatever it was - Straight in the bin with all the other "charity" stuff that comes through the letterbox.

This has been well debated before.

Please can people be wary of what they post on this topic. I had quite a long chat with trading standards on this issue. They didn't sound all that enamoured with the companies approach, but said that it was legal. They are not claiming to be a charity, although that is the impression that many seem to get from their leaflets.

For obvious reasons we can't have legal allegations made about a company here. I've edited a couple of words out of some of the posts above.
