I dont think there is a date yet, but keep an eye on the forum as Alan said he would make sure everyone knew. You could always PM Alan for more info, he is a member and I'm sure would be delighted to enlighten you

Back onto thread. In principle I am in favour of any idea that would benefit the Island in the long term. Wasn't able to make the meeting and haven't read all yet, but if it is a viable proposal and will benefit the Island for years to come then perhaps it is worth further investigation.

Or choose to dismiss you. As he said to me on this forum when I put my point of view forward.
Make sure you agree with everything proposed.

Does anyone know if this hairbrained scheme has an official website? I would like to learn more about it.

Hayling Mastercard Moment: Someone comes forward with a proposal to bring tourism, trade, cash & jobs to the island, and the nimby's / doom-mongerers & nay-sayers try to shoot in down in flames before it's even been given full consideration.

Priceless.

No problem at all. In fact I'd have more trust in someone's will, commitment and drive to succeed if they have a real vested interest. This will not be a venture for the faint hearted - so the more they personally stand to gain the better IMHO.

And before I get "Mr & Mrs Outraged" sending me hate mail - yes - I know there are lots of skilled and committed volunteers who do marvellous things - and achieve marvellous results with no vested interest. I just think this particular type of project isn't likely to attract enough of those kinds of people to succeed.

I agree MM, as long as the result is a success for HI - I don't want to see another Hayling Food Festival fiasco (I'm led to believe that the organiser is still insisting it was a success, unlike nearly all the people there I spoke to on the Sunday - even the few stallholders still around).

Let nature take its cause, if hayling floods then it was meant to happen - You can build your walls, dams, breakwaters etc, the water will still rise!

Can't agree to that, half of Holland would be under water if the Dutch hadn't done something about it.
