Also, there is not much deterant in this country of ours for criminal action. Look at the paultry sentances that our namby mamby magistrates and judges give out.

Perhaps it is because of Comprehensive Education and the abandonment of the 11 plus. I am ashamed to say it was New Labour who made new grammar schools illegal in 1998 (? - I wasn't in the UK at the time). Thus education is dragged down to the lowest level.

I feel really grumpy about all these negative comments about young people. Has no one ever been to hospital and been treated really skillfully by a very young doctor or nurse, backed up by dedicated lab staff in their teens and twenties, or helped at the scene of a dreadful accident by a cop young enough to be their son/daughter.....

Young people are bloddy brilliant!! (mostly)

Whenever there is a road traffic incident posted on the forum we always get a group of people saying "hope everyone is OK" or similar.

So do I, but posting that repeatedly is about as sincere as the American "Have a nice day".
