Default Flooding

We are considering buying a house in Northney Road.

Does anyone know if this area has ever been flooded, either from the sea or as a result of a storm?

What are the risks of future flooding?

It's such a lovely area but we are concerned that it may be a risk.

Many thanks for any advice.

Welcome to the forum Dreamer

My brother once lived in Northney Road, just round the corner from the 3 storey houses.

They were stuck 'once', the sea came over by the Langstone Hotel and flooded the road running south from the hotel, it never got as far as the houses, he was just late for work, though I don't think that bothered him too much.

The last time Hayling had a bad flood was a few years ago and that was a combination of high tide, strong winds and wind direction. Even then, only one bungalow was affected.
