I saw this situation before when Zhoo Zhoo lived at Hedge End and we took some stuff to her local tip. I think that there were about 20 Dysons and no other make lined up there. What is wrong with Dysons?
They are so noisy!

Well, I just bought a Tesco Value Vacuum cleaner for £18.
Purely for vaccing out the car (a rarity in itself LOL), since the LG thing we have, decides every time i take it outside, it refuses to work - nope, not tripping out, just goes on strike after 2mins. Grrrrrrrrr!

Sounds like the thermal overload tripping inside the motor , take care where you place it and make sure that its getting plenty of cooling.

I dont know the design of the LG but this could be the problem

mine had the same problem of cutting out after 2 min. i got through loads of fuses before realising it was the thermal cutout.

problem easily solved by placing some wadding between the cutout and the metal casing of the motor. not had a problem since.

The reason that there are a multitude of Dyson cleaners at the amenity site is because they are still operational whereas other makes go straight into the skip when left there.

Quite like ours. Can't say I use it that often, but it's always done the job on those rare occassions when I do.

Most efficient reasonably priced cleaner is Bosch Cylone - a bit heavy but boy does it suck (LOL). We used to have a Hoover which gave up the ghost after 10 years so I decided to do some research and finshed up with the Bosch. There are a couple which are marginally better (and a lot dearer) but still remember the first time we used it, it removed so much dirt from the carpets (and cat's fur which is notoriously difficult) that it was almost incredible, obviously the Hoover had failed completely to get this stuff up. Had it three years now, just over half the price of a Dyson and still working faultlessly. You don't hear about it because Bosch don't advertise it for some unknown reason. Yes, it has two filters and yes you do have to clean them out twice a year for maximum efficiency - so what.
