The high fuel prices are necessary because this government, like the last, has a policy of heavy taxing and heavy spending. Our EU contributions are £50 million a day on top of Euro bail-out support. I'd like to see a massive reduction in government spending so that taxes, including fuel duty will be cut. It isn't going to happen though.

Something odd is happening and I don't presently know why: Oil prices have dropped around 6% in the past week or so and are still falling now. This has to follow through to petrol prices soon I would have thought.

Dropped another 2% today I see, I am going to hang on until the last drop in my tank because it's now as low as it was back before Christmas. I reckon the likes of ASDA will break cover soon and carve up to 5p off a litre.

Was more than pleased to fill up at the Esso station on the way home yesterday at £139.9 for unleaded which is currently £144.9 or £145.9 here in South London.
