Another computer maintenance Scam

Just had two calls on Skype with a computer generated message saying that my computer is running slow and has errors on it, the usual stories, and to go to web site sswrr . com to fix it.

Looks like they are using Skype now rather than a landline call to try and get your money. The website looks very professional but the domain was only registered today. The website does say that it is trusted by millions.

Just hang up and report it to Skype.

I don't give a damn about my Skype privacy settings, what I'm concerned about is warning others about yet another computer support scam that they may be a target of.

But if people make sure their privacy settings are locked down you dont get the scammers

I have a TrueCall and it's brilliant. It blocks all withheld numbers and new callers need to identify themselves before getting thru. White list people get straight through and black listed people cannot. It's really good.

I was thinking of getting a block for those nuisance calls that withold their number, but will that also block incoming overseas calls which, for some reason, do not display the caller's number?

Will also block calls from the Hospital and many other medical services, possibly GP's.

The blood donor clinic often phone donors with updates reminders etc. they do this from a call centre, just an example of another service that would get blocked.
