Re Merlot's hope that G4S will be penalised, the same report says:

Channel 4 News understands that G4S are subject to a penalty fine per venue, per day if they ultimately fail to meet the agreed staffing levels and that senior managers have been demoted as a result.

Exactly it seems to me that LOCOG made the "cog up" up in the first place and G4S where reappoached with a new total G4S arnt going to say nah we cant do it ( well their business), however they will be put under more pressure now.

As Badge has quoted their will be penilities for failure, but I suspect there will be a getout clauses on the new numbers which seems reasonable to me.

The Chief Exec of GS4 had a really good grilling on Radio 4 and BBC1 this morning. I can't understand why the executives of the firm didn't know about the manpower shortfall until a couple of weeks ago. I also cannot understand why those organising the Games and all to do with it were not on the ball.

Probably they were having a management conference in Spain.
