how big is the tree. i cant see from the picture it looks fairly small can you not dig it up and move it.

If I was as big and strong as you, I probably could do that , but it is 10 metres in diameter (the spread) and too big for me. Good question though.

well i am fairly big and strong but you can move fairly big trees just need the machines to do it (14 ton digger)which i have on the farm it would proberly cost alot of money but just thought if they get permission to cut it down you could dig it up and move it if it is such a fine tree.

just out of interest, is Maytree the actual proper name for this type of tree, or is it a colloquial name? i've never heard of this type of tree before.
