Blue Flag Clean Beach Award

Hayling Island has been awarded the European Blue Flag for three of it's beaches, namely West Beach, Beachlands and Eastoke Corner. The Blue Flag is an environmental award, given to communities that make a special effort considering a sound environmental development. To get the Blue Flag the communities have to fulfil a number of criteria covering water and coastal quality, environmental information and education, safety, services and facilities.

This effort makes sure that you and your family can visit clean and safe environments at the seaside and lakeshores in Europe. And it makes sure that the local community maintains a basis for sound development.
