HarboursHayling Island is situated between the two harbours of Chichester and Langstone Harbour. These two harbours are both tidal in nature and offer a haven for local and migrating wildlife with their shallow waters mud flats and salt marshes. There are paths along the shores from which access can be gained, along which ornithologists can be readily seen with their note books and binoculars. There are also great views to be found across to Portsmouth, Chichester and Portsdown hill from these shores especially at sun down. Care should be taken when walking along these areas of the shore, for although the mud flats can sometimes look hard and dry, it is usually only the top layer that is so, whilst underneath is thick, sucking mud in which it is very easy to become stuck in. For more information about the paths around the harbours and the sights of natural interest to be seen, see our section on Nature Walks. Location:All around Hayling's shores. Amenities:Car Park:Parking is only available primarily at North Hayling Halt, behind the Esso garage on Havant Road and at Northney marina.
