Suntrap School

The Suntrap School was a open air boarding school on Hayling Seafront owned and operated by the London Borough of Harringey. Children from the city attended mainly for health reasons, such as Asthma and Bronchitis, so that the Hayling sea air could work its' magic on their lungs. The school was once also home to an autistic centre.

After remaining empty for a number of years the school grounds are now the site of residential accommodation. Whilst many of the buildings were demolished to make room for housing, the original Main House received a substantial renovation and conversion into a number of houses that retain the original character of the building.
