Not in my Neighbourhood a success

The week commencing Monday 13th October 2008 was the national "NOT IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEK".
Hayling Island Safer Neighbourhood Team utilised the Mobile Police Station to patrol the Island and actively promote more Neighbourhood Watch Schemes.
I am pleased to report that in total 19 roads were visited and we called on over 500 properties. The response was extremely good with the majority fully supporting the proposal of getting a scheme up and running in their area.
I would like to thank all the other parties that worked with us on this initiative, in particular the Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators that gave up their time to talk with residents.
We shall now look at conducting street surgeries as part of our Mobile Police Station duties throughout the year in order to try and start even more schemes.
If your road has not got Neighbourhood Watch, and you would be interested in setting one up then please let us know using any of the contact details below and we could work with you to make this happen.
Please drop in when you see the Mobile Station in your area and liaise with us. As well as Neighbourhood Watch information we will also have a variety of other crime prevention information on board.
