Big Screen Scarecrows – Free Community Event

In the chill of deepest winter, there will be an opportunity to recall the warmth of last summer in a special one off event at The Station Theatre. Hayling’s BEST Scarecrow Committee have booked the Theatre for an evening showing of a DVD slide show featuring photos of the 2008 Scarecrow Festival.

The DVD features photographs projected onto the cinema screen giving residents a chance to see the fabulous entries in last year’s Festival on the big screen!

This free community event is being held on Friday February 6th, doors open 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The slide show lasts about 35 minutes and will be followed by a series of announcements from the Scarecrow Committee about the 2009 Festival and an opportunity to ask questions or make comments about the Festivals.

The Theatre bar will then be open for the purchase of refreshments and Hayling MTI merchandise will be on sale in the foyer.

The free tickets are now available from The Station Theatre, Station Road, The Terracotta Pot Shop, Eastoke Corner and The Hayling Island Bookshop, Mengham.

Linked to this event, the Scarecrow Festival Committee will be making a copy of the DVD available to care homes and nursing homes on the Island so they can arrange showings to Residents. Care home staff can contact the Scarecrow Committee via The Hayling Island Bookshop to book a copy of the DVD.
