All frontline services suspended - UPDATE

- Wed 6th Jan 2010

As a result of last nights heavy snow fall ALL frontline services have been suspended until further notice. Police advice, via the radio, is to keep off the roads.

It seems unlikely that services will start soon so normal advice is to leave wheelie Bins out on the day they are due until they are collected, although put them in a safe place.

We are now experiencing further heavy snowfall and as such there is no chance of getting any of our frontline services deployed today. Despite staff going to great lengths to get to work conditions are too hazardous.

There are enough people on duty to respond to any urgent/emergency work as or when requested.

A senior manager will arrive at the depot at 5.30am tomorrow to make a decision on wether it is safe to return to normal service.

Cllr. Andy Lenaghan.
