New Market for produce, arts and crafts

Havant Borough Council, Prod Grow Events and members of the Hayling Island Business Community have organised a new market starting 17th June from 9am – 3.30pm, and fortnightly thereafter.

The market at Mengham Lane Car Park, Hayling Island, will provide a wide choice and variety of speciality foods, produce, arts and crafts from across the region, adding to the vibrant business community already established on the Island.

Councillor Fairhurst, portfolio holder for economic development said, "This is a great opportunity to offer another attraction for visitors to Hayling Island. Inviting food producers and artists from across the region will make it different from what is already available locally and lots of people will find something they like there.

“After people have visited the market they will be able to enjoy all the other great things to do on Hayling. I am certainly going to go and see what there is, and I hope lots of other people do as well.”

James Shanley, Prodgrow events director said “I have already had lots of speciality food traders and artists contact me, welcoming the opportunity to trade on Hayling Island.”
