- Fri 16th Jul 2010
With the support of Havant Borough Council and the windsurfing industry, the fifth UK’s prestigious annual windsurfing event takes place at Beachlands, Hayling Island on 4th and 5th Sept 2010.
Entries for the National Windsurfing Festival (NWF) are still available on-line but limited – if you want to register visit www.nationalwindsurfingfestival.com
The NWF event encourages all abilities of sailor, especially the free-rider, with its series of master blasters, sponsored by the windsurfing industry throughout the weekend.
Councillor Andrew Lenaghan, portfolio holder for culture and community said: “We are delighted to be able to support this fabulous event again this year. It has become a firm fixture on the calendar of events on the Island and everyone looks forward to it.
“It’s free for all the family and we hope that residents and visitors will come along and soak up the atmosphere. It’s a great sport which was founded on Hayling Island by Pete Chilvers, so it is fitting to host the event on the Island.”
An array of the UK’s windsurfing gurus will be on hand, providing clinics and advice throughout the weekend as well as the latest equipment being exhibited within the trade marquees.
On Saturday evening the NWF fancy dress party incorporates the unique Night Windsurf spectacle. There really is something for everyone at this year’s NWF.
