We want your unwanted or broken small electrical items!

- Mon 18th Jun 2012

Have you got any burned out sandwich toasters, broken kettles or other unwanted electrical items lying about gathering dust at home?
If so, then residents of the borough can bring them along to any of the special collection points being set up to mark National Recycle Week 2012 taking place 18 - 24 June 2012.
Havant Borough Council is working in partnership with Weeecare to make recycling small electrical items easy to recycle. Residents can drop off unwanted or broken small electricals for free, in return for entering a competition where they can win some great gadgets.
Leigh Park Community Centre, Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park and Waterlooville Community Centre, Maurepas Way, Waterlooville will accept any small portable electrical or electronic items with a plug or batteries that can be easily carried by one person, apart from televisions or monitors through Recycling Week.
On Saturday 30 June between 10am and 1pm residents will have another chance to recycling their electrical items at Hayling Island Community Centre, Hayling Park, Station Road, Hayling Island
New regulations mean that electrical items are restricted from landfill as they contain hazardous material.

More information can be found at www.recycleforhampshire.org.uk to find a collection event near you, or to locate your nearest HWRC.
