Don’t lose your right to vote

If you have not already, you should shortly be receiving your Register of Electors Canvass Form. In normal years, the Canvass starts in August but because there are elections for the new Police Commissioner in November this year, the Government has brought forward the publication of the Electoral Register from December to 16 October.

Please make sure that you complete your form and return it as soon as possible, or, if there are no changes in your household, you can register by telephone or on-line. Details of how to do this will be explained on the canvass form. If you don’t, you and other people within your household risk being removed from the Electoral Register.

Not only would you lose your right to vote, but you may also have difficulty opening a bank account or obtaining credit if your name does not appear in the Register of Electors, so don’t delay – register today!
