2 people remanded in custody facing drugs charges

Two people have appeared in Guernsey's Magistrates Court today facing charges linked to cannabis and cocaine.

Both people from Hayling Island, have been remanded in custody until September 4th to give more time to the forensic experts.

It is after the border agency stopped an estimated £200,000 worth of drugs coming into the island.

No pleas have been entered this morning.

51 year old Colleen Kelly and Stephen Risbridger, 52 were arrested on Sunday July 29th after officers found a large amount of cannabis in the woman's car as she arrived in St Peter Port from Poole.

Further investigations led to them later arresting Mr Risbridger at a local bar.
