World Class Ju Jitsu Master to Visit Hayling

John Steadman, 8th Degree Ju-Jitsu Master is officially recognised as one of the highest graded ju-jitsu masters in the world today and on April 12th 2003 he will be running a Close Quarter Unarmed Combat Course on Hayling Island. The day will focus on empty hand skills for the purpose of personal survival and will be based around instruction that John has provided to many of the world’s elite special forces personnel.John is without doubt one of the leading Physical Skills instructors in the world today with over forty-five years of experience under his belt.




As a Founder member of the British Ju-Jitsu Association (GB) he has the following mandate:


- National Coach Tutor (30 years +)


- National Weapons Advisor


- International Grading Examiner


- Technical Officer,


- National Ratification Officer


- Discipline Officer.


- Director of Personal Protection and Governing Body Security.




More recently he has been involved with writing and constructing the NVQ standards for the British Ju-Jitsu Association (GB), which has been accepted by all lead bodies such as BTEC. He has also worked with various security service agencies (including the military and police) in the USA, Canada, Mauritius, Spain and Gibralter. In addition John has privately trained many security personnel from prison to police staff and has been the technical skills advisor to the BBC for the documentary “Eve Strikes Back”, a personal safety documentary for women.

The course will run between 10.30am – 2.30pm with a break for lunch (not provided) and at a cost only £35.00 per person. We are expecting a full house therefore, places are very likely to be limited.
