Half Term Activities for Young People

There are still places available on a variety of sports courses that are being offered to youngsters across the borough this half- term.




As part of the popular Schools Out programme of events being run by Havant Borough Council, young people aged 5 – 16 are invited to get active and get involved in a range of activities taking place at venues throughout the borough.Young people aged 8 – 16 can sign up for a 5-day course of trampolining being run at Warblington School each weekday morning from 9am – 12noon. They will be taught simple techniques, such as seat drops and star jumps and a harness can be used for the more confident to learn somersaults.




A 5-day beginner’s course in Judo for the same age group and will take place from 9am – 12noon at The old Parkhouse Primary School, Sparsholt Close, Leigh Park and will teach the discipline of Judo, along with basic rolls and moves.




One-day intensive boxing ‘taster’ induction’s will be held at three venues and will teach young people how to hold a boxing stance, concentration techniques, balance and posture. Punch bags may be used to learn the correct position to punch, in which case boxing gloves will be provided.




There are different sessions held for specific age groups. For details on these and for information on the other courses on offer this half term, please refer to the Schools Out leaflet. Every person aged 5 – 16 years in the Havant Borough will have received information through their


school on these courses and copies of the Schools out leaflet are available from the Civic Offices,
