Hayling Joggers seek running mates

- Tue 15th Jul 2003

Hayling JoggersHayling Joggers, the Island's relaxed and informal jogging 'club' are looking for people to join them on their weekend runs.

The new group already boasts around 20 runners of varying ages ranging from their 20s to 60s, and is hoping to increase that number through the summer.

John Bennett, who started organising the runs in May describes the group as "Free and Easy" : "There are no membership forms and no fees. We try to encourage those new to running to take it easy and just enjoy the experience. The most popular runs are along the seafront with the Hayling Billy Trail being favoured by the more experienced runners. "A training programme will also be put together for those wishing to take part in the Hayling (10 mile) run, which is usually held in November.

The Hayling Joggers meet at the car park next to the Inn on the Beach each Sunday at 9 am All abilities are welcome.
