Police name Islander as A3 Road Crash Victim

Hampshire Police have now named the victim of Monday's fatal A3 road crash as being Jamie Bellion, aged 21, of North Shore Road, Hayling Island.
The incident occurred shortly after 11pm on Monday evening on the A3 just after Liphook services.
Mr Bellion, who had been driving a white Vauxhall Astra at the time of the incident, had stopped to assist the driver of a blue Mini, who was a woman aged in her 20s and also from the Hayling Island area, which had broken down in the southbound carriageway.Mr Bellion was stood by the driver’s door of the Mini when they were struck by a red Nissan Sunny travelling south on the A3.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the actual collision or who saw the Mini broken down or the white Vauxhall Astra prior to the collision. Anyone with information is urged to contact Whitehill Traffic on 0845 045 45 45.
The officer in the case is Constable Paul Underwood.
