PARIS TO HAYLING

- Wed 23rd Jun 2004

IT’S FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR THE 2004

<%image(20040623-Postcard Map 2004.jpg|782|562|Map of Cycle Ride)%>We are very pleased to say that the 19th annual event is now full and so we are looking forward to yet another successful ride, with the 5-Dayers sailing out on the afternoon of 11th July and the 3-Dayers overnight on the 13th July. We shall all be in Paris on Bastille Day, 14th July and return to Hayling on the afternoon of Saturday 17th July. Following a musical tour of the Island we are hoping to see family, friends and many Islanders at the Hayling School at about 4pm. Please come along to welcome us in, as well as to enjoy the activities on the school field.

Preparation for this year’s event

We are now entering the last stage of preparation for this year’s event, but everything seems to be falling into place, especially with the capable leadership of John Adcock, back at the helm of the support crew. The routes have been finalized and hotels and waystops in place. What we need now is good weather like last year!

Details for Ride 2004

The 5-Day 416 mile ride goes out in the afternoon of Sunday 11th July from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and the 3-Day 221 mile ride overnight on Tuesday 13th July, from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Riders are expected to raise at least £150 for the charity of their choice, with entry fees and business support paying for the organisation of the event, allowing 100% of the sponsorship raised to be distributed to the nominated charities and deserving causes
