A 16-year-old boy has died after falling from his moped at Hayling Island Sailing Club yesterday (July 13).
At around 4.20pm Damian Curtis of Curlew Gardens, Waterlooville struck a rope barrier at the sailing club, which separated Dinghy Park from the road.
The impact caused him to fall from the moped.
He sustained severe head injuries and died at the scene of the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident. Anyone with
information is asked to contact Cosham Roads Policing Unit on 0845 045 45 45.
A report has been received in these offices about a moped rider leaving the sailing club was killed when he hit a rope barrier. Apparently he was travelling at a modest speed and they cannot understand the horrific injuries. No other vehicle involved apparently. The young lad who was killed worked for a contractor working at the sailing club.
