Hayling man witness to violent attack on motorist
- Thu 29th Jul 2004
A MOTORIST was temporarily blinded after mindless youths threw a missile at him, in Chertsey.
The victim, who was driving along St Peter's Way, towards St Peter's Hospital, on Friday, July 23, at around 9am, was hit in the eye by a missile thrown from a mini bus, which was travelling alongside him on the dual carriageway.
The hard object hit him in the eyeball, temporarily blinding him, and causing him to slam on his brakes and stop for a few moments until he had recovered.
The 49-year old man, from Hayling Island, remembers seeing three youths sitting in the rear of the bus, who laughed at him as they closed the rear sliding window. It is thought the bus belonged to a school, in Watford.
