- Thu 9th Sep 2004

HIRA Executive Committee

Minutes for meeting held on July 13th, 2004 at Sunnyside Hall.

Present: L Neale (LN), A Higham (AH), Colin Richards (CR), D Turvey (DT), Mary Mortimer (MM)

Councillors: None present

Apologies: P Fisher (PF), F Gibson (FG), Robert Blindell (RB)

Minutes of June meeting

These were approved, subject to the next item.

Matters Arising

Due to omission in recording, the presence of DT and MM had not been noted.

Planning

Robert Blindell, our new planning officer was not present as he was abroad.

Concerns were raised during the meeting as to the state of several potential developments on the Island and for which it was felt we should be up to date. These included: the Barley Mow, Hayling Trailers, Hayling Bay Hotel, TESCO in Havant, Hayden Motors and Dilkusha. As all of these are significant developments that will concern many people and we must be fully informed as to their status.

Membership Forms

It would seem that these need re-printing as they were in short supply.

Village Design Statement

It had not been clear how this could be prepared on behalf of the distinct communities, dispersed as they were on Hayling. However, we were led to understand that one statement must cover the interests of the whole Island. We must consider this matter further.

NEHRA

CR reported on the progress of the Northney traffic calming programme. Meetings had been held but a further survey of traffic speeds in the area had not convinced the police of any real need for action. This was disputed by the members and discussions will clearly continue until an action plan is agreed.

Open Meeting

This was all arranged and would take place as agreed.
