Save East Head - Chichester Harbour at Risk
- Fri 21st Jan 2005
You may or may not know about the critical condition of the East Head peninsula, off the Witterings, in Chichester Harbour. I believe its loss would be disastrous for Chichester Harbour and encourage you to read the attached document on the subject.
The Chichester Harbour Conservancy are asking that you simply register your name and e-mail address with them, if you feel that you support the campaign, using the following link:

Although some progress has been made toward securing the long term future of East Head, there is still a lot of work to be done before a protection scheme can be agreed and put into action. All parties concerned are now committed to finding a sustainable long term solution, and Chichester Harbour Conservancy aims to develop and submit an application to carry out works next winter. Any potential scheme will rely heavily on public funding, as it is clear government funding is unlikely to be forthcoming. In addition, it must be supported by all relevant authorities before planning permission is granted. The Conservancy believes that the clear expression of public opinion will have a major influence in resolving the East Head issue. To keep in touch with all the latest developments at East Head please register your interest with the Conservancy at www.conservancy.co.uk. Simply click on the "Keep in Touch" option and enter your name and email address, then tick the "East Head" option. You will receive regular updates and be advised on what you can do to help save East Head.
