Matters None. Arising
Planning
Considerable discussion took place on this topic with V P J explaining a number of points. It was stated that little could be done about applications if they were ‘legal’. Matters such as appearance, obtrusiveness, inappropriateness etc. were largely matters of opinion and could easily be overturned on appeal.
RB noted that the occupation conditions (over 50s) for the flats on the old Lloyd’s Bank site were now proposed to be changed to general use. There was little objection.
21, St. Catherine’s Road had been turned down.
Application was in for 17/19 Eastoke Ave., demolition and replacement by three house, little problem.
Heron’s Court development off Tournerbury Lane was raising concern. Discussion could not see any real problem and this was confirmed later by RB after visit and inspection. Subsequent public meetings have done little to resolve the local objections.
Selsmore Cottage, Marine walk. A development here was felt to be out of character. This would be investigated further.
Community Board
It was noted that a suggestion had been made to provide a Community BBQ site at the bottom of the Billy Trail. This had been enthusiastically supported. LN said she would canvass local opinion and perhaps collect a list of supporters. (It should be noted that this was the only item voted out by the Hayling Board at its meeting subsequent to this one. TH was astonished at this reaction, with comments about noise upsetting the residents in Station Road. This will probably be taken further).
Billy Trail
See above item.
January Open Meeting
We were looking forward to this.
NEHRA
CR stated that things were progressing slowly on this but a ‘walk through’ of the route for calming had been carried out.
