Minutes of meeting held on February 8th, 2005

  Matters     Arising.       None. 


Planning. 


RB was not present, due to a domestic soaking so this topic was dealt with by PF. It was noted that permission for flats at 286 Seafront had been rejected.


Community Board 


The £50K for locally approved projects was agreed. The main ones were footpath improvements and signing, grants to the Northney Community Centre for car park improvements and to the football club. The Eastoke Corner improvement is also approved in principle and should shortly be in the planning stage. Martin Peacock of HBC is handing this and has been contacted by AH.


 


Ferry 


PF was in discussion with various parties to ensure that this service would continue.


 


East Head


PF would write to add support to the campaign to ensure defensive work was carried out in an appropriate manner. He has circulated information to a large number of local people, urging them to register their interest in the matter with the Chichester Harbour Conservancy.


 


Rental of Halls 


PF had received updates to the hire arrangements for the URC and Sunnyside Halls.


 


NEHRA


CR stated that Northney was to have a go at producing a Village Design Statement. A meeting on the matter would take place in April. There was some discussion as to how such a topic could be handled on the Island as a whole.


 


AOB 


A number of matters were raised. These included:


 


Parking on verges in


Manor Waywas damaging the grass. Could anything be done? (I walked down there after the meeting and the damage was very limited, but could be unsightly if it got worse).Mary Mortimer had collected some £300 in subscriptions. We hope she keeps up the good work!
