Beach Huts Arson
- Thu 5th May 2005
Once again we have an instance of vandalism on Hayling. A group of 4 beach huts postioned at the Bound Lane/ Webb Lane beach area, were burnt to the ground. Local residents phoned the emergency service after hearing a loud explosion, thought to be a gas cylinder in one of the huts. The local police sergeant said that a full forensic examination will be made. The Hayling.co.uk News team feel this is not feasible, as they walked all over the site and handled many items there, whilst taking photographs as did the Portsmouth News' photographer agent. This means that any forensics would be contaminated and unusable in a court action.
