New Youth Service for Hayling

Hayling Island is to get a new drop in session for young people at the Hayling Island Health Centre designed in response to the Local Teenage Pregnancy Strategy.The sessions, named C.H.I.F.Y (Confidential Health Information For You) will be held in a separate area of the Health Centre where young people can wait away from other patients and get access through a separate doorway to their own waiting area. Staffed by a practise nurse the sessions will be held every Tuesday from 3.30-5.30pm for all young people aged 12 - 18 years old. Offering confidential access to contraceptive advice, emergency contraception and free condoms as well as information on topics including drugs, alcohol, relationships, smoking cessation, acne, period problems etc.

C.H.I.F.Y has been planned to allow young people to access services that meet their needs, and young people have been involved in its design.

The new drop-in will open on April 9th 2002.
