20th BIKE RIDE REUNION DINNER AT THE BRITISH LEGION

The event is to take place on Friday 21st October - Trafalgar Day - at the Royal British Legion on Hayling Island. Since this is such a special occasion, we are planning to organise it in grand style, rather than the normal informal reunion. Many of you know that the Hayling Branch of the British Legion is the largest and most successful in the country. We anticipate a large attendance and are catering for up to 200. For the large part, we expect those attending to be this year's riders and support crew with their partners, but the invitation is being extended to former participants and supporters of the event, including business sponsors. The evening will cost £15 per person, with cheques payable to 'Paris to Hayling'. There will be a quality buffet, including hot dishes. Music is to be provided by the Crooners - the band who played for us in Le Havre. There will also be the re-presentation of freshly-engraved Bike Ride trophies, the Bike Ride 2005 Videos and the opportunity to hand in sponsorship money. Dress is formal.

PLANS FOR THE 21st RIDE 2006
As mentioned last month, we are already planning next year's 21st Ride, but the main unknown is still what is going to happen with the ferries, since P&O dropped their Portsmouth to France service at the end of September and the future of the crossing to Le Havre is uncertain. We shall keep readers informed when more information is made available. The likely date for the return to the Island is Saturday, 15th July 2006. However, reservation forms are now out, so that riders can book their place, with a £75 reservation fee. So book your place now! New entry forms will be available later in the year.
