HIRA Executive Committee Minutes of meeting held on November 8th, 2005 at Sunnyside Hall
Present: P Fisher (PF), A Higham (AH), D Turvey (DT), Nigel & Lesley Marsden (NM &LM), Colin Richards (CR). Councillors: A Lenaghan (AL).
Apologies: Shirley Adams (SA), L Neale (LN), Bruce Bennett (BB).
Minutes These were approved.
Actions Roundabout at bottom of Seagrove Avenue: is this an ongoing item?
Matters Arising HISC membership offer had been quite effective and had resulted in additional. HIRA members too.
Planning As BB was not in attendance, there were no items.
Community Board & Liveability Trim Trail and resurfacing on N. Hayling Community Hall car park had been completed. Other projects were proceeding reasonably well Sculpture Roadshow This was happening and subsequently many people visited and commented.
Around the Solent This project is to enhance the status and use of Solent coastal areas and the Harbours and Hayling are included. There is funding available. It is proposed to have representatives attending our next meeting on 13th December. AGM Review This was held to have been successful, with a good attendance, because of sculpture item.
2006 Meeting Topics A discussion of topics for these meetings was held. Suggestions include: Community Board activities, together with its possible future role in police liaison, Schools and Education, Harbour Conservancies, flooding and protection issues, sustainable energy, eco-tourism, Eastoke Corner and other tourism developments, Island charities etc Decisions will be made for inclusion in the December newsletter. The first topic is likely to be the Beach development topic. Correspondence Letters had been received about buses & bridge artwork. NEHRA CR said the 2nd. Workshop for the Village Design Statement was being held. Professional architects were contributing.
AOB It was noted that the Higworth caravan site had been sold. Comment was made on the absence of the HCC Magazine (since received by myself at least).
DONM Tuesday, December 13th at 7.30 in the Sunnyside Hall. Distribution Committee members, Councillors and others.
