Children in Need swim

As promised after last years event Councillor Andy Lenaghan and Victor Pierce- Jones have agreed to swim again this year for Children in Need. The difference this year is they will be joined by Councillors Frank and Sheila Pearce and anybody else who would like to participate and raise money for this worthy cause. There was a great atmosphere last year and it was an enjoyable swim although very cold. Councillor Andy Lenaghan said, “I do not want to organise and formalise the event for health and safety reasons plus liability, so I am informing people of the event who may join us if they wish. Everyone will swim at their own risk and raise their own sponsorship. I would suggest a donation in the well placed bucket will be appropriate from all swimmers along with any sponsorship you collect. If you wish to formalise the fund raising, packs can be obtained at http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey The swim is on Friday the 17th November 2006 at 10.30am at the Beach opposite the Lifeboat Inn. Remember all comers welcome, the more the merrier to ensure this event grows each year. Afterwards we will pop across to the lifeboat to be suitably refreshed.
