- Fri 4th May 2007
Hayling went to the polls yesterday to vote in the local elections, with 34% of East Hayling Residents and an impressive 42% of West Hayling residents turning out to have their say with regards to local government.
Conservative councillors Andy Lenaghan for West Hayling and Dave Collins for East Hayling came in with very comfortable leads for their respective wards.
Neither ward on Hayling had official Labour candidates in this election, although each had an independent candidate filling a similar spot on the political spectrum. In both wards these independent candidates improved on previous results under the Labour banner.
