Artists brighten up seafront
- Thu 31st May 2007
A run-down kiosk on Hayling seafront has been given a new lease of life with a seaside themed artistic make-over.
The kiosk, at the end of Chichester Avenue, has been looking rather unloved in recent years, being one of the seafront buildings that is yet to be modernised. Thanks to money from the Havant Borough Arts project, the kiosk has now taken on a brighter look.
The mural, produced by Portsmouth based Arts & Soul Traders includes beach huts, boats and seagulls giving a reflection of it's position on Hayling seafront.
The colourful mural may though not be a long term feature on the beach. The kiosk block may be due to be demolished and rebuilt later in the year as part of the ongoing project to bring the facilities along the seafront up to date.
